When the NFL Draft came to Detroit in 2024, the Detroit Sports Commission needed a seamless way to guide VIPs through a packed schedule of events and venues. Innovation Works delivered a custom mobile application that put each guest’s experience at the center: we tied secure, list-based sign-in to personalized schedules, real-time wayfinding, and optional recommendations, so every VIP could move from event to event with confidence.

A Concierge in Your Pocket
Our team designed the app to feel like a dedicated concierge in their pocket. After signing in with their registered email, users saw a tailored schedule with event times and clear directions from one stop to the next. Tapping an event provided turn-by-turn guidance from their current location and the flexibility to continue in their preferred navigation app. We also surfaced suggested places to visit between commitments, turning downtime into discovery. The result was a scalable, on-brand experience that matched the caliber of the event and the expectations of the Commission’s most important guests.
The 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit set an all-time attendance record, drawing over 775,000 fans across the three-day event (April 25–27), including a Day 1 record of 275,000 attendees.
The app welcomed users with a clear main screen and an intuitive schedule hub. Tapping an event revealed full details, start times, and step-by-step wayfinding, guiding guests seamlessly to their next experience.
Interactive maps and directional guides help VIPs move smoothly between venues, with additional context provided for each location or event.
